Areas of interest

Model behavior / Post-training

As a wise person once said, the model is the product. There is a ton of investment in verifiable domains (code, science, workflows, etc), less so more subjective qualities like character/personality design, new interaction patterns, general 'EQ', etc.

Personalization

ChatGPT and/or Gemini will probably solve this and mostly close the door on new ideas, but for the time being personalization still feels unsolved both at the product and model layer. And it's fun to think about.

The real world

AI will need to transition into the physical world (robotics, automation, devices, etc.). There are also second order opportunities to help society reorganize itself around a world where most work is completed by AI.

Shopping

It's a massive market and idealistically a chance to reduce the enshittification of the internet. We will likely see several big exits over the next couple years, there are a lot of dollars and entrenched business models at stake.
